The trailer opens with Boman Irani’s character moving into his son Amay’s (played by avinash Tiwary) apartment for a short 48-hour stay. Right from the start, their fractured relationship is evident—Boman’s character is stubborn and irritable, while Amay is visibly detached and uninterested in mending their bond. Their interactions begin as lighthearted banter but soon unravel into intense confrontations, forcing both men to face long-buried emotions.
The film’s IMDb synopsis captures the essence of the story: “After the loss of his mother, Amay, a struggling young architect is forced to live for 48 hours with the one person he cannot stand—his father. It seems like a recipe for disaster. Wrong! It’s much worse.”

The film has been co-written by boman irani and Academy Award winner Alex Dinelaris. It is produced under the banner of Irani Movietone LLP in collaboration with Chalkboard Entertainment LLP, with Danesh Irani, Vikesh Bhutani, and Shujaat Saudagar as producers. Also featuring Puja Sarup in a key role, The Mehta Boys is set to premiere on Prime Video on february 7.
