Christophe Ruggia: director convicted in France's metoo trial, sentenced in exploitation case with this actress

A paris court has convicted filmmaker Christophe Ruggia in the country's first major metoo trial. Ruggia is accused of exploiting French actress Adele Haenel. Ruggia exploited famous French actress Adele in the 2000s when she was between 12 and 15 years old. Christophe Ruggia has been sentenced to two years of house arrest and two years of suspension.

Filmmaker Christophe Ruggia was sentenced to four years in prison by a paris court on Monday. Ruggia has been found guilty of physically abusing French cinema's award-winning actress Adele. Ruggia sexually abused Adele when she was a minor. The court has sentenced director Christophe to four years in prison, of which two years will remain suspended. Ruggia has denied the allegations against him.


Haenel is 35 years old. She is among the top actresses of France. After the metoo movement began in France, Haenel accused the film industry of turning a blind eye to physical abuse.


In 2019, Haenel accused director Ruggia of repeatedly touching her inappropriately during and after the shooting of the film 'Les Diables' ('The Devils') in the early 2000s. Ruggia has been found guilty in this case.
