Shahrukh Khan and gauri khan have a deep attachment to their 20-year-old house Mannat, the Bollywood superstar once said, "If I go broke one day, I will sell everything, but not Mannat." Located in the Bandra area of Mumbai, the six-story Mannat is a luxurious bungalow worth Rs 200 crore. According to the latest reports, shahrukh khan and gauri khan are getting their dream home renovated, due to which they will shift to a rented four-story apartment in May with their three children. 1- Shah Rukh Khan did not always have 'Mannat'
Before Mannat, Shah Rukh and Gauri lived in a 3BHK sea-facing apartment in Bandra. king Khan first saw this luxurious property in 1997 while shooting for his film Yes Boss and was instantly smitten by it. In 2001, he bought the house from its owner Nariman Dubash, and made his dream home come true.
2- 'Mannat' was renamed thrice
Originally owned by gallerist Keku Gandhi, the house was initially called Villa Vienna. After acquiring it, Shah Rukh Khan renamed it Jannat which means 'heaven'. However, when the house proved lucky for his career, he changed its name once again to Mannat which means 'prayer.'
3- Mannat is officially a heritage property
Built in the 1920s, Mannat is classified as a Grade III heritage structure. According to INTACH, this status is given to buildings "having local significance, the special architectural or historical value". Though the interiors have been transformed into a stunning contemporary space, the house still retains its exterior, with its signature white columns.
4- Mannat is equipped with all the amenities
Mannat is more than just a lavish bungalow. It has a world of its own. The property has a tennis court, a home library, a fully equipped gym, a swimming pool, a personal auditorium, and even a boxing ring. The home theatre is decorated with old posters of bollywood classics like Sholay, Mughal-e-Azam, and ram Aur Shyam.
5- Who designed 'Mannat'
The transformation of 'Mannat' was undertaken by gauri khan and architect-designer Kaif Fakih, and it took more than a decade to complete. Currently, designer Rajiv Parekh is looking after its renovation. The six-story house has several bedrooms.
