Actor Jyotika, who is gearing up for the release of her Netflix web series ‘Dabba Cartel’, has been actively promoting the show on social media. However, amid the buzz around her upcoming project, she found herself at the receiving end of online trolling. A section of users on instagram attempted to drag her husband, actor Suriya, into a comparison with Vijay and pradeep Ranganathan. Instead of engaging in a heated exchange, Jyotika offered a simple yet effective response.
Jyotika’s response to trolls
While many fans flooded Jyotika’s comment section with supportive messages, a few chose to stir controversy by comparing Suriya to other actors. Comments such as, “Pradeep Ranganathan better than ur husband Suriya,” and “Truth is Vijay is better than ur husband and husband’s brother way ahead. First tell them to beat Dragon and love Today collection” were among those that surfaced. Another comment read, “Vijay is better than your husband,” while one user went so far as to claim, “Thalapathy Vijay >>>> Suriya, Karthi, Suriya father.”
Rather than engaging in a back-and-forth, Jyotika responded to one of the comments with just a laughter emoji, subtly brushing off the negativity.
Fans and Reddit react
Her response quickly gained traction on social media. A Reddit user shared a screenshot of the comment, captioning it, “Jyothika response to a VJ kanni.” Others chimed in with their opinions. One user remarked, “Audacity to tell a woman that another person is better than her husband.” Another joked, “We got jyothika involved in fan wars before GTA VI.”
While many lauded Jyotika’s composed reaction, some questioned why she chose to acknowledge the comment in the first place. An instagram user speculated, “Why are you replying to that negative comment? Because then only you can get media attention, right? Total family jealous of other actors' success.”
On work front
Jyotika has had a busy 2024, starring in Shaitaan and Srikanth. Dabba Cartel, set to premiere on Netflix on february 28, marks her next major project. Additionally, she is set to appear in the Hindi-Tamil bilingual film Lion.
