Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat Maintenance Faces NGT Hurdle; Activist Raises Allegations Of These Violations



Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan's iconic bungalow in Mumbai, is about for renovations this summer season.

Reports advise he and his circle of relatives will temporarily circulate out to permit the work to start.


However, the undertaking has faced a setback as an activist has raised issues about violations in the upkeep plan, asking  the Nationall GreenT) to step in and pause the paintings.


Bar & Bench reported on monday that activist Santosh Daundkar has approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT), alleging that Shah Rukh Khan and the maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) didn't obtain the desired Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance for the renovations at Mannat. Because the bungalow is a Grade III heritage structure, any modifications want the right permissions.


The record says Shah Rukh plans to add two floors to his six-story bungalow. It also claims he converted twelve 1-BHK residences intended for mass housing into one domestic for a single family.


The NGT has requested Daundkar to provide evidence of his claims. Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh and expert member Vijay Kulkarni stated that if there have been any violations by the assignment  proponent or the MCZMA, Daundkar ought to put up evidence inside 4 weeks. If he does not, the enchantment can be brushed off. The NGT will hear the case again on april 23.
