Comedian Samay Raina has finally broken his silence after weeks of controversy over his and Ranveer Allahabadia's comments on India's Got Latent. Raina also appeared before the maharashtra Cyber police in Navi mumbai on monday after receiving a summons in connection with the ongoing investigation into the matter.

Samay Raina in his official statement to the cyber cell has expressed deep regret over his comments made during India's Got Latent and accepted that they were said in the heat of the moment and were not said intentionally. Raina said in his statement, "I am deeply sorry for what I said. It happened in the flow of the show and I had no intention of saying so." Accepting his mistake, he further said, "I realize that what I said was wrong."
Raina assured the officials that he will be more cautious to prevent such incidents in future. He also said that this controversy has had a bad effect on his mental state and said that due to this situation his canada tour could not happen as planned.
The maharashtra Cyber police had earlier rejected Raina's request to record his statement via video conferencing and insisted that he appear in person. The case is being investigated in collaboration with the mumbai Police.

The controversy started when Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BearBiceps, asked a contestant an obscene question on India's Got Talent. He had questioned the contestant on the show about intimacy between parents. The video clip of this created a ruckus. The incident sparked outrage across the country, leading to several FIRs being filed and the supreme court taking a tough stand on the matter. Earlier this month, the apex court had targeted Raina and commented that the younger generation thinks they are "over-smart" and know more than they do.
