Samay Raina broke his silence on Allahabadia's comments on India's Got Latent

Samay Raina has expressed deep regret over his comments made during India's Got Latent in his official statement given to the cyber cell. And admitted that they were said in the heat of the moment and were not said intentionally. Raina said in his statement, "I deeply regret what I said. It happened in the flow of the show and I had no intention of saying so." Admitting his mistake, he further said, "I realize that what I said was wrong."

Raina assured the officials that he will be more cautious to prevent such incidents in future. He also said that this controversy has had a bad effect on his mental state and said that due to this situation his canada tour could not happen as planned.

maharashtra Cyber police had earlier rejected Raina's request to record his statement through video conferencing, and insisted that he appear personally. The matter is being investigated with the cooperation of mumbai Police.

What was the whole controversy about?

The controversy started when Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, asked a contestant an obscene question on India's Got Talent. He had questioned the contestant on the show about intimacy between parents. After the video clip of this went viral, there was an uproar. The incident sparked outrage across the country, due to which several FIRs were registered and the supreme court took a tough stand on the matter. Earlier this month, the apex court had hit out at Raina, commenting that the younger generation thinks they are "oversmart" and know more than they actually do. "There are some people who are writing articles on freedom of expression etc. We know how to deal with them. After every fundamental right comes a duty. There are restrictions too," Justice Suryakant had remarked during the hearing.
