On the night of 8 June 2020, an incident took place in the Malad area of mumbai, which shocked people in bollywood and outside it. 28-year-old Disha Salian, who was the former manager of the late actor sushant singh rajput, fell from the 14th floor of a residential building. The police initially termed it a suicide. At that time, the investigation said that Disha had consumed alcohol at a party, after which she lost her balance and fell, but the story did not end there.


Exactly six days later, on 14 June 2020, sushant singh rajput was also found dead in his Bandra flat under suspicious circumstances. The time between these two incidents was so short that people started linking the two. people on social media termed this case as a conspiracy, after which many questions started arising about Disha's death.


After Disha's death, her father Satish Salian had initially expressed confidence in the investigation by mumbai Police. He had said that he did not suspect any conspiracy in his daughter's death and appealed to the media not to defame his daughter. The mumbai police also considered it a suicide in its investigation and filed a closure report in 2021. Later, the cbi also looked into the matter as it was believed to be linked to Sushant's death.


In 2022, the cbi said in its report that Disha's death was an accident in which she fell from the building in a drunken state, but suddenly Satish Salian questioned the police investigation. He raised the matter again five years later in 2025 and approached the bombay High Court.


Satish Salian filed a writ petition in the bombay high court in march 2025, in which he claimed that his daughter's death was not a suicide or an accident, but a murder. He alleges that Disha was gang-raped and then murdered. Many big names have been included in this petition, including the names of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya thackeray, actor Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and some police officers.


Satish has demanded from the court that an FIR be registered against these people and the investigation of the case be handed over to the CBI. Apart from this, he also said that a big conspiracy was hatched to suppress the death of his daughter, in which influential people were involved.

After this, Satish also gave a complaint to the mumbai police Commissioner, in which he reiterated these allegations. His lawyer Nilesh Ojha claimed that the police have accepted his complaint and it should be registered as an FIR. Satish also demanded that the safety of all the witnesses in this case should be ensured and the scene should be recreated again so that it can be clear how Disha died. Recently some new developments have also come to light in this case.


On 31 March 2025, it was reported that two former assistant commissioners of mumbai police, ap Nipunge and Bhimraj Ghadge, handed over two pen drives to Satish Salian and his lawyer. These allegedly contain sensitive evidence that links Disha's death to murder and gang rape. Satish's lawyer has also questioned Disha's postmortem report, asking if the truth was hidden in the investigation. On the other hand, the mumbai police closure report stated that Disha was suffering from depression due to reasons such as loss in her business, misunderstanding with friends, and misuse of her money by her father, but Satish has outright rejected these claims.


This case is no longer just a legal battle but has become a political battlefield. bjp leaders Nitesh Rane and narayan rane had earlier claimed that Disha was murdered and Aditya thackeray may have had a hand in it. Narayan Rane also recently said that uddhav thackeray had called him and requested him not to drag his son's name into the case. On the other hand, shiv sena (UBT) is calling it a conspiracy. Aditya thackeray rejected these allegations and said that this was an attempt to tarnish his image. party leader sanjay raut also said that it was an accident, not murder and there is no political angle in it.


The bombay high court will consider this petition in today's hearing. Satish Salian demands that the case be reopened and handed over to the CBI. On the other hand, people associated with this case, like Sameer Wankhede can present their side in the court, he is a former NCB officer, who has been given a copy of the petition. Wankhede's lawyer has said that he will submit a detailed affidavit, which may contain some shocking revelations. The court will decide whether a fresh investigation is needed in this case or not.
