Officials said on thursday that the Mulavukad Gram Panchayat has issued a notice directing the singer to pay the fine within 15 days.
According to panchayat sources, a tourist made a video of the singer on his mobile phone. In this, a garbage bag was being thrown into the backwaters of kochi from the singer's house located in the Mulavukad panchayat area. Following this, the notice was sent to Sreekumar. Reacting to the post, the minister said that complaints related to public littering, along with evidence, can be submitted on the government's whatsapp number (94467 00800) for action. Panchayat sources said that after receiving the complaint, the control room of the local body directed the panchayat officials to inspect the spot on the same day and confirm the incident. After this, a notice was issued to the singer to pay a fine of Rs 25,000 under the relevant sections of the panchayat raj Act. There has been no response from the singer on this issue yet
