Cannes 2025: Pay 12 lakhs, walk on the red carpet, sensational disclosure of 'extortion' in the name of Cannes Film Festival

Cannes Film Festival: Many package deals are being offered to mislead peoplefrom walking on the red carpet of the Cannes Film festival to getting photographed.

Not only indian film audiences but also the stars working in it are misled by the name of the Cannes Film Festival. As the festival day approaches, the lobby of those who provide 'opportunity' to film stars and entertainment world artists to walk on the red carpet of this festival has become active again. Film artists are being offered package deals during this festival, from attending parties to networking and getting photo opportunities.

Social media influencer Anupriya Kapoor has shared one such mail on her social media page. Last year, the fake news of the film 'Humare Barah being selected for the so-called 'Indian Film Category' was busted, this year Anupriya has revealed how artists are being asked to pay between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, just for walking on the red carpet.

Anupriya says that many such people have paid money to get their photos clicked on the red carpet in Cannes in the past as well, who have nothing to do with cinema. She says that there is nothing wrong with going to Cannes by paying money, but such people should not claim to represent India. This year, the 78th edition of the Cannes Film festival, which is going to start on May 13, will be held.

Only the artists of the films selected in the official section of the Cannes Film festival walk on the red carpet of this festival. Some artists are also invited by the sponsors of the festival, like last year aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, sobhita dhulipala etc. reached there in the same way.

The most important category of this film festival is the Competition section, in which Payal Kapadia's film 'All We Imagine As Light' was included last year after some three decades. The second important section is the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film festival, in which shahana goswami starrer 'Santosh' was included last year.
