Sharmila Tagore says Naadaniyan was not a good film
In a candid conversation with Anandabazar Patrika.com on YouTube, sharmila shared her unfiltered thoughts on the film and her grandchildren’s journey in Bollywood.
“Sara and Ibrahim are doing a wonderful job. Ibrahim’s film was not good, but he still looks very handsome. He has tried his best. These things shouldn’t be said in front of everyone, but honestly, the picture isn’t great. Ultimately, the picture has to be good,” she admitted with refreshing honesty.
While she was critical of the film, sharmila was also full of praise for sara ali Khan. “Sara is a good actress. She works very hard and is capable of doing a lot more. She’ll also achieve that,” she said, expressing confidence in her granddaughter’s future in the industry.

'Naadaniyaan', produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, was promoted as a fresh-faced romantic drama but failed to leave a mark. Apart from Ibrahim and Khushi, the cast included veterans like Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, Jugal Hansraj, and mahima Chaudhary.
Much of the backlash was directed at the film’s dialogues, which became a talking point online for the wrong reasons. The screenplay was penned by ishita Moitra, known for her work on rocky Aur rani Ki prem Kahani, Call Me Bae, and Half Girlfriend, alongside Jehan Handa of Showtime fame.
