'Dishoom' is an Action-Adventure genre written and directed by Rohit Dhawan. The movie features John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Saqib Saleem and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. Dishoom is a 36 hour hunt made by two cops to find out the missing star batsman of India Viraj. Varun Dhawan plays the role of Junaid and Jacqueline Fernandez plays the role of Ishika in the movie. Akshaya Khanna essays role of antagonist. The movie had an interesting plot bringing in Indian Cricket Team, A star batsman, Final match between India and Pakistan and so on. John Abraham and Varun Dhawan from the Special Task Force finds the missing batsman and how they find him is narrated with usual masala cliches. However Akshaya Khanna impresses us with his unique role. The idea of connecting movie to Cricket is unique and we must appreciate that.

John Abraham as Kabir Shergill has just made an impressive performance once again. He is definitely one of the smokin' hot hunks in Bollywood and he lives up to that reputation. His role in this movie is just Kick-Ass and his physical appearance compliments to that. His introduction scene and slow-mo walk shows how reckless and cool his character is. Varun Dhawan who essays role of Junaid Ansari will be seen as his side kick. He is adorable and has tried to evoke smiles at times. He has been given underdog role by his brother Rohit Dhawan. However he has nothing special to do and his role is similar to Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Dilwale and Main Tera Hero and we are just getting fed up. Saqib Saleem has done role of Indian Cricketer Viraj Sharma and he has done justice to the role.  Akshaye Khanna is doing role of antagonist and his character is a bookie in this match. He makes some evil plans and does something with brains. Jacqueline Fernandez as Ishika brings the glamour and skin show. She is just a feast to our eyes. Her skin show is what drives us crazy. Rest of them has done justice to the roles. Nothing much to brag about.

The music for Dishoom is composed by Pritam while lyrics have been penned by Kumaar, Mayur Puri and Asish Pandit. But more than songs, it is Abhijit Vaghani's background score which impresses us. Ayananka Bose has done a sleek cinematography work. The frames are simple and neat. He never tried to make it hard. However too much of slow-motion scenes annoy us. C'mon ! This ain't 'Matrix' ! While the first half is engaging, the second half is ridden with cliches and corny twists. Also the whole movie is easily predictable. It is the cinematography which lifts the movie to new scale. Some glorious landmarks of Abu Dhabi was captured so beautifully. Jacqueline Fernandez role is also feisty. She essays role of a recovering drug addict, but how she got some skills ? They are left unanswered. The second half of the movie is the real villain. Akshay Kumar’s special appearance and Parineeti Chopra‘s special song will impress you. But rest of them will definitely test your patience.

The movie had an interesting plot and it is well connected with Cricket. However things got an U-Turn as usual cliches started to happen in second half of the movie. Varun Dhawan seriously has to get rid of his Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Dilwale and Main Tera Hero hangover. His body language is annoying. Cinematography is the biggest positive and kudos to Ayananka Bose for making an impression. Rohit Dhawan should have focused more on the screenplay. Ritesh Soni also should have done a crisp editing. Still 'Dishoom' might be enjoyable for the 'bromance' between John and Varun.
