Story:
Superstar mahesh babu is back on screen after the blockbuster result of his silver jubilee flick maharshi with his 26th flick sarileru neekevvaru, joining hands with superhit director anil Ravipudi for the first time. Here's team ap Herald's exclusive first on net sarileru neekevvaru review.
The
movie begins with the introduction of a strict
college professor Bharathi (Vijayashanthi) and then shifts to the
mass introduction of Major
ajay Krishna (Mahesh Babu) at the border, involved in an operation. An incident happens during the operation and now Major
ajay Krishna decides to leave the border to convey information to Bharathi. As
ajay Krishna along with
rajendra prasad reaches Bharathi's place, he gets to confront
minister Prakash Raj.
ajay realizes
prakash raj is trouble for
bharathi and decides to stay back with her. What's the conflict between Vijayashanthi and
prakash raj, was
mahesh able to convey the information to Vijayashanthi, how
mahesh successfully foils the minister's plan and destroy his empire to ultimately help Vijayashanthi is what
sarileru neekevvaru is all about.
Performances:Mahesh Babu is energetic and smart and carries a unique vibrancy throughout. He excels with his humor-laced, massy performance and rocks in action as well. Vijayashanthi is terrific in her comeback act and gives a stunning, powerful performance.
prakash raj is menacing, and
rashmika Mandana
adds to the humor and glamour. The rest of the cast including Rajendra Prasad,
sangeetha, Rao Ramesh,
hari teja, Ajay,
vennela kishore is adequate.
Technicalities:
Devi Sri
prasad delivers a thumping background score and of his songs, Daang Daang, Mind block,
sarileru neekevvaru theme is impressive. Cinematography by
rathnavelu captures the
mass moments and action sequences in a stylish way. Editing by Tammiraju could have more crisp in the second half.
Analysis:
Director
anil Ravipudi who had delivered the dark horse
blockbuster f2 Fun and Frustration is back this
sankranti teaming with the biggest superstar of
tollywood mahesh babu for Sarileru Neekevvaru. The
movie begins with some scintillating action moments with the
army looks of Superstar and then shifts base to
home, and from then it's a mix of humor and
mass in the right proportion, as
mahesh babu and Vijayashanthi dominate the proceedings. While the first half of the
movie establishes the characters and conflict in a humorous, action-packed way, the second half is a mix of several massy goosebumps moments and sentiments, besides
anil Ravipudi brand humor, ultimately ending as a perfect entertainer for this Sankranti.
mahesh babu and Vijayashanthi have equally strong roles in the
movie and carry the
movie, while technically also the
movie is rich with great
music and cinematography. Kondareddy Burj center
episode,
mahesh Babu's
comedy timing, the sequences involving Vijayashanthi and
mahesh, the
mass moments are some of the highlights of Sarileru Neekevvaru. Humour is
anil Ravipudi's forte and he has perfectly blended it with
mass to deliver a lovely family
mass masala entertainer for this festive season.
