Jump Jilani is about a family vilas which has been passed down the generations and is now on its uppers. In parallel to the tale about its renaissance are love stories involving its two owners, Satti (Allari Naresh) falls for Madhavi (Isha Chawla) not having a clue that she is the sanitary inspector who serves notice to Satyanarayana Vilas, but wins her heart. Meanwhile, Ram Babu (Allari Naresh) the robber and convict brother enters the scene to change the course of Vilas, which is giving up to the modern restaurants. He entices the grand father's (Kota Srinivasa Rao) traditional cooking methods that are new to this generation. But when they fall prey to the Inspector & are entrapped by the jeweler in search of diamonds, the story takes imaginable coasts without disturbing the punch quotient.

Allari Naresh has done his best to perform in the dual role, but certainly has talent to perform better. Allari Naresh has given his best to Rambabu's character. The script has also let him down. Isha Chawla is okay in her limited role, director could have worked a bit more on her characterization, but it is Telugu actress Swathi Deekshith, who takes the cake with her performance and also with her oomph factor. Senior actors like M S Narayana, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Raghu Babu and Rao Ramesh are middling in their roles. Dhanraj, Thagubothu Ramesh, Hema and Posani Krishna Murali failed to make much impact with their comic timing.

Jump Jilani is remake of Tamil film "Kalakalappu" which is supposedly based around a German film called "Soul Kitchen" & Tamil film "Ullathai Allithaa". Jump Jilani is directed by E Satti Babu, whose earlier films fell flat at the box office other than his first films O Chinnadana and Ottesi Chepputhunna starring Srikanth. Each film not only brought disgrace to him, but also makes one wonder whether he cares about the result of the film. Not so surprisingly, Jump Jilani is the latest addition to the list of bad films he has made.

The second half of the film drags and tests the patience of the audience, while the first half is still tolerable. The emergence of unnecessary sentiment and lack of crispness makes it lengthy. Nearly half an hour the film could have been pruned. While doing justice to the original script the director Satti Babu could have given gate pass to routine scenes. For example the few chases with Posani - Allari Naresh, Family Hotel song, Thagubothu Ramesh & Isha Chawla characterizations etc. While making a remake the requirement of present day and what audience like, where the film drags should have been carefully worked out. Jump Jilani is not decently made slapstick comedy and doesn't reflect any honesty seen in the narration was seen in C Sunder's Kalakalappu. Comedy portions are badly written and even actors like MS Narayana and Posani Krishna Murali fail to elicit laugher. Continuity in narration lacks logic.

The director has failed to extract required work from technical crew. Music Director Vijay Ebenezer delivers a below average music compositions. The film's songs shot in Bangkok do not go beyond average levels too. Lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastri are cringe worthy Samantha Samosa, Anushka Omlette, Tamanna Tandoori, Hansika Halwa in a family hotel song just gives you an example about the rest of the songs and lyrics standards in the film. Background score of the film is too loud. Cinematography of Dashrathi Shivendra is neat; the outdoor shoot he has done is not so pleasant on screen. Transitions of scenes were not perfectly done by Editor Goutham Raju. Editor could have easily cut short the film by thirty odd minutes. Production values of Venkateswara Art Productions are fine.

Jump Jilani is a remake of Shiva - Anjali starrer Kalakalappu, which showcased good performances from all its actors. The film had a fair slice of comedy and sentiment packaged in an interesting manner. But E Satti Babu, director of Jump Jilani, has failed to maintain good grip in characterizations of the leads, narration and script. The whole film is overturned with this change in nativity, unnecessary spoofs and characterizations, and that is mainly responsible for the horrible narration in the second half. To sum the things up, Jump Jilani reminds you of many films done like this, way back in the 1990s. The film is using an old template, suitably filled up to make some easy profit. But in spite of that its looks hilariously awful.
