Rajakkannu, a tribal man from Kammapuram in Virudhachalam, was taken to the police station in 1993 on a charge of theft and was later found dead. 'Jay Beam' is a film based on this issue.

Rajakkannu (Manikandan) belongs to the Irular tribe who lives in a backward district of tamil Nadu. wife Chenganni (Lijomol Jose). One day Rajakkannu goes to catch the snake in the house of the big man of the village.

Police are looking for Rajakkannu to stop the robbery at the house in a few days. On the pretext of looking for him, the police arrested his wife and relatives.

One day Rajakannu is found and beaten and tortured for confessing to the crime. Later, police say Rajakannu and two of his relatives who were in the lockup with him escaped.

Attorney Chandru (Surya) is taking up the matter. After this, what happens is the rest of the story.

It takes great courage to try a commercial film that focuses on the police's encroachment on the darkest tribes in tamil Nadu.

Then, the victims of that transgression and the struggle for justice must stand by and create a better cinematic screenplay. Gnanavelu has that courage and the elegance to make a great movie.

The screenplay starts to falter within minutes of the start of the film. When the police come into the area of the dark tribes and drag the people away, the scenery makes us feel like we are being dragged away.

The constant false accusations levelled at the blacks, the abuses committed against them at the police station, the torture, the deaths vibrate every moment.

As the character of the heroine in this film immediately starts to fight towards justice, the film moves to the next stage and becomes a lively thriller. Nowhere is there a scene or verse in addition.

Basically, the film belongs to the court - Drama genre. But the suffering of the affected people and their struggle for justice and the way they were filmed have taken the film to new heights.

Two things become important in this film. One is to brush up on what the power structure does to protect its own people. The second is to create a positive feeling by saying that if those who have been wronged by the government fight, it will not go unnoticed even if it is a long struggle.

Lijomol, who is red-eyed, occupies the entire film. Looking at her performance, which is nowhere to be seen, it seems as if someone from the Dark Tribe has played the role.

Following this, Manikandan, who will be the hero, has acted better. Can't think of anyone else in this role.

Prakash Raj plays the investigating officer Perumalsamy in the film. Needless to say about his acting. In one scene, the three guards who tortured and killed the protagonist, the sight he sees as he passes, is audacious.

Surya plays the lawyer Chandru. This is a remarkable film for him too.

Like the screenplay in this film, the two strongest features are the music and the cinematography. They have both done it better. The songs also fit the picture.

Adds to the list of best movies in tamil, this "Jay Bhim".
