Jwala Rambarran who is of Indian Origin is the governor of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. As per reports, the Finance minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr.Colm Imbert has accused Rambarran for violating several laws and he also said that he will be facing criminal charges.


Jwala Rambarran was appointed by former prime minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who is also of Indian origin. He was appointed 3.5 years ago despite huge criticism. There were lots of negative criticism that he was chosen over officials with a lot better qualifications and experience.


His tenure was for a span of 5 years. He is also the second guy of East Indian to hold such a high position since the central bank was established in 1964. Sources said that Rambarran has breached three major laws.


They are the Central Bank Act, the Financial Institution Act and the Exchange Control Act. He has also violated foreign exchange laws. Rambarran has said he never violated any law and it was the recession.
