Presently India will take steps to convey its interest to the UK authorities about the new British immigration law which will definitely have a huge impact on the professionals who are earning 35,000 pounds per annum. The Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has stated that she will take it up with the British authorities.


As per the new rule, the plan will come into effect from April, and professionals who are working in Britain onTier 2 Visa can earn less than 35,000 pounds a year and at the end of five years of their stay in the country will be deported.


In the question and answer session, the Minister has said our country has taken up similar issues which are concerned with visa rules of the U Government at the World Trade Organization (WTO). She said Indian professionals are facing many challenges related to Visa in other countries and India has dragged the US to the WTO over its decision to impose high fees on temporary working visas.


From next month onwards those who are qualifying for ILR under the five year plan must also prove that they earn at least 35,000 pounds a year or face the prospect of rejection, which means they would have to return to their native or ultimately be deported if they refuse to leave voluntarily.
