Bank of Baroda launches special savings account for women NRIs!

Public sector bank of Baroda (BOB) has launched a special savings account for women NRIs. BoB Global women NRE and NRO Savings Account has many benefits. Such as low interest rate and processing fee on home and auto loans, full exemption on locker rent, customized debit card with free airport lounge access. Apart from this, there is also a facility of personal and air accident insurance coverage.

bank of Baroda Executive director Bina Waheed, while talking to ET, said that the bank aims to meet the changing needs of indian women around the world. She said, BOB Global women NRE and NRO Savings Account has been designed to recognize the changing needs of new age global indian women and empower them.

Premium nri, NRO savings account also upgraded

Apart from this special offer for women, the bank has also upgraded its BOB Premium NRE and NRO savings account. In this change, the transaction limit in the debit card has been increased. Free access to airport lounge has been given, deposit locker is free, interest rate on loan is also concessional. bank of Baroda was founded by Sir Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III on July 20, 1908. The number of customers of this bank spread across 17 countries is around 165 million. The new Global nri banking segment is part of the bank's strategy to strengthen its position.

Who is called NRI?

Citizens of indian origin who are living in other countries for work or studies are called Non Resident indian or NRI. In many places they are also called Overseas Indian. Many times people go abroad for higher studies or in search of a good job or due to some training and settle there. It can also be understood in this way that those citizens who stay in india for less than 182 days in a year are called NRIs. Under the India's Foreign Exchange Management Act 1990 of the government of india, indians who settle abroad for business, employment or education etc. are called NRIs.
