Kalaivani is an artist from Kamarajar Road in Villupuram district. He is creating awareness among the younger generation by painting traditional paintings like thanjavur painting and Kalamkari.

Tanjore Paintings are one of the most important paintings. Although there are many paintings, there is no such thing as a painting style. These thanjavur paintings are a form of painting that originated during the Chola period. The rulers have been the most important reason for the survival of Tanjore paintings to date. In today's growing technological world, many industries have become technology-driven. Only a few remain the same.

Among them, some painters are selling traditional paintings by hand to this extent. According to this, many people are struggling to protect the traditional paintings which are being lost among the younger generation and to know their importance.

Kalaivani (39), who lives in Kamarajar Road, Villupuram district, is working as a part-time painting teacher at Villupuram government Model Girls' High School. He has 24 years of experience in traditional painting. He has been painting paintings like thanjavur painting and Kalamkari. It takes 20 hours to paint a thanjavur painting. The price of this painting ranges from 1200 rupees to a maximum of 4 lakhs. However, the general public does not have that level of awareness about such traditional paintings.

Thanjavur paintings are usually finished on boards made of jackfruit or teak wood. thanjavur paintings are known for their sumptuous depictions of deities using vibrant colors and elaborate decorations. In these Kundan stones, jaipur 24-carat gold plates are drawn. Curves are drawn with delicate brushwork in these paintings. Kalaivani says that the more time you spend on a painting, the more you can earn from this painting.
