It is not often that a winner of a constituency attracts the loser, but this has happened. Agriculture minister of AP Kanna Lakshminarayana has left Telugu Desam Party (TDP) rattled much before the general elections with him nominating industrialist Chukkapalli Ramesh as secretary of the prestigious NTR stadium committee in Hyderabad. Ramesh fought on TDP ticket against Lakshminarayana in 2009 assembly elections and lost them. Sources say before elections itself, Ramesh requested the party chief N Chandrababu Naidu to suspend some people in the party who secretly helped Lakshminarayana.  With Naidu not responding to his repeated pleas, Ramesh reportedly distanced himself from the party activities. However, the party leadership is now stunned that he has become close to the minister before the 2014 general elections. NTR stadium is owned by the municipal corporation with several life members. TDP leaders in Guntur (West) constituency are reportedly very much upset with the appointment of Ramesh as secretary of the committee while TDP activists gathered at the stadium and sought appointment to discuss the matter even as the ministers followers reached the spot and raised counter slogans.
