The allahabad High court has directed the central government to declare cows as a national animal, giving them basic rights as they are an integral part of indian culture and this verdict has sent shockwaves across the nation already. Javed, a resident of Sambal district in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested last march under the state cattle law and he had filed a petition in the allahabad High court seeking bail.

The petition was heard in a session of Judge Sehgar Yadav and was adjudicated yesterday and in it, Judge Sehgar Yadav rejected Javit's bail application and issued a 12-page order. On the 12 page order, Judge Sehgar Yadav said that the cow is very important in the ancient Vedas and Mahabharata of india and that the cow is an integral part of indian culture and given the current situation, the central government should declare the cow as a national animal.

Cow protection should be made a part of the fundamental rights of the Hindu community as we know that the nation will be weakened if the culture and beliefs of the country are weakened. Therefore, the Union government should bring a bill in parliament to provide basic rights to the cow, including sections that severely punish those who abuse the cow and torment them.
