A meeting of district secretaries and high-level committee members was held on the 20th at the MDMK office in Egmore, Chennai. The meeting was attended by 106 executives, including MDMK general secretary vaiko and deputy general secretary Mallai Satya.
This meeting is for the sole purpose of "Can Vaiko's son Durai Vaiyapuri be given a party post?". Speaking at the meeting, vaiko said, `I do not want to support as he is my son. The decision can be made after a secret ballot with party executives. In the ensuing secret ballot, Durai Vaiyapuri received 104 votes and the announcement was made appointing him as the General Secretary.
Not a captain?
He went on to say, “From the beginning, he has been saying that heirs should not be nominated as the next leader of a party. We too have been travelling for the last 28 years relying on it. There are those out there who don’t care about Succession Politics. That fact must be taken into account. "
"Vaiko's son may join the party and be promoted. Why is it that there is no difficulty in giving the post even if the OPS son comes to MDMK? But if he alone is qualified to lead the party, could not vaiko, who has led the army for 28 years, even create a general?
He did not cultivate in this party even one who had merit, personality, english proficiency, and charismatic energy. Let someone in the party come. Why are they creating such an environment?.
Why such a twist?
"Are the district secretaries saying that the uprising of the MDMK in 1993 was due to the arrival of Durai Vaiyapuri?" Whether there is popular support or not, we see it as right or wrong according to the party's basic tenets. The mentality that only his son can lead the party is widespread.
