Tamil Nadu Water Resources minister Duraimurugan inspected the mullaperiyar dam today.

Mullaperiyar dam has experienced another problem during the monsoon season as usual. The tweets posted by kerala actors in this regard caused a great stir on social media. AIADMK has demanded that action be taken to stagnate 142 feet of water. The party has announced that a protest will be held in this regard.


Minister for Commercial Taxes and Securities Registration Murthy and Food minister Chakrabarty were also present on the occasion.


After inspecting the dam, minister Duraimurugan met reporters at the tamil Nadu Public Works Department's inspection building in Thekkady. 


He joked in his style that people were shocked to see the AIADMK's protest on november 9.

Duraimurugan, who mentioned that he had visited the mullaperiyar dam in his 80s, has visited it recently. He also accused the AIADMK EPS-OPS, which had been in power for the last 10 years, of not visiting the dam.


Permission has been sought from the government of kerala to cut down the trees there to strengthen the Baby Dam.

But the kerala government blames the forest department. Steps will soon be taken to strengthen the Baby Dam and raise it to 152 feet based on the supreme court ruling. ”


Minister Duraimurugan said at the time that he hoped that the Mullai Periyar Dam issue would be resolved during the tenure of kerala Chief minister Binarayi Vijayan.
