S. Venkatesh's participation resulted in the suspension of banks in Ramanathapuram Fishermen's Village. The tamil Nadu government has gave fishermen with monsoon aid. There were complaints that for the amount of relief granted, education and jewellery loans were being made at bank branches. Following the fishermen's complaints, S. venkatesh M. promised B bank authorities that no such favour would be granted.

Su. venkatesh, a Member of parliament from Madurai, had posted on the social networking site regarding this issue. The bank's regional executives promptly called the venue, assuring them that the favorites would be stopped and the money would be repaid. He said, "I mentioned the usurer attitude, which the public banks should avoid. It is granted by the government to cover the fishermen's immediate daily living expenditures. How can poor, unsophisticated fishermen continue their life in this manner if they enjoy it?

This is something that all banks should think about. If any other fishing village's relief has been similarly favoured, it must be credited as well. The responsible bank administrations should provide appropriate directives to all bank branches and we have already initiated talks with several bank officers and managers."
