When stalin paid homage to Jayalakshmi's body the moments were tearful. It was also therefore expected that the two siblings would meet at some point.
Chief minister of TN M.K. stalin and his elder brother, M.K. Alagiri did not meet each other even though we were in the same place at Coimbatore.
Jayalakshmi, the mother-in-law of the late former chief minister Karunanidhi's youngest son MK Tamilarasu, died in coimbatore yesterday due to ill health. This morning, the chief minister of tamil Nadu MK stalin, the brother of the TN CM- M.K.Alagiri, came to Coimbatore.
But before the arrival of chief minister stalin, the brother came to coimbatore to attend the mourning ceremony. Coming straight home he paid homage to Jayalakshmi’s body. It was at that time that chief minister stalin arrived at the spot.
However, the Stalin-Alagiri meeting did not take place in spite of being in the same house for 45 minutes. Udayanithi stalin and his sister Selvi were also present when stalin paid homage to Jayalakshmi's body. Many tamil Nadu ministers paid tribute.

The relationship between the siblings was not perfect. During Karunanidhi's death, the two went together to meet the then chief minister Edappadi Palaniswamy. No reunion has taken place between the two since then.
