UP Elections: Massive virtual war between political parties?
AAP has described the election Commission's order to campaign in Uttar Pradesh through the virtual medium as a 'boon' for itself. Everyone wants to know how the political parties will increase their penetration among the voters amid the ever-increasing cases of Covid. After the election commission banned election rallies till january 15, the trouble of coronavirus infection has brought the fight of political parties to the virtual platform.
The bharatiya janata party (BJP) is strongly active on social media and other parties including the Samajwadi party are also trying to further strengthen their presence on social media.
How is the preparation of the BJP?
Uttar Pradesh BJP's media in-charge manish Dixit said on monday that his party is miles ahead of other parties in the use of social media, yet the party is working on the strategy of proper use of the virtual medium for the upcoming assembly elections. He said that the party has given different responsibilities to the office bearers up to the booth level to connect the voters with the programs of the party through various social media mediums including whatsapp, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
Congress party: Congress's state media convener Lalan Kumar told about the party's preparations for the virtual election war that his party is busy preparing to keep the burning issues of the state among the public through social media. He said that congress has already strengthened its presence on various social media platforms but additional arrangements are being made for campaigning through the virtual medium.
Samajwadi Party: The main opposition party Samajwadi party is also gearing up to beat the opponents in this virtual battle of elections. Party's national spokesperson Ashutosh Verma said that it is still a difficult task to reach out to rural voters through the wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital platform, but the party is finding a way out in the changed scenario. He told that it is true that about 40% of the phone users in rural areas do not own a smartphone, but the SP is most inclined towards young voters and most of the youth in rural areas also have a smartphone. The party is connecting the youth with them by forming thousands of whatsapp groups in every assembly constituency.
AAP: The ruling aam aadmi party in delhi has claimed that the election Commission's order to campaign through the virtual medium in Uttar Pradesh is a 'boon' for itself, claiming that it is in a better position than its rivals in the virtual field on the strength of experience. Party's state spokesperson Vaibhav Maheshwari said that the party has always believed in reaching out to the people personally and the commission's order to campaign through the virtual medium is no less than a boon for the party.
