Finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan has stated in the budget that textbooks will be provided for ₹ 15 crore to schools that teach in the tamil way without the help of the government.

Finance minister PDR Palanivel Rajan presented the financial status report in the tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He then allocated funds to various departments and issued notices to that effect.

He said Rs 500 crore has been allocated for flood protection works in Chennai. He said Rs 50 crore has been allocated as special funds for the protection of government lands and removal of encroachments.
He said Rs 4,816 crore has been allocated for social security pension schemes, including old-age pensions and disability pensions. He said a special center for social media would be set up to curb false propaganda on social media. He said Rs 4,130 crore has been allocated to provide crop loans to farmers for loans to self-help groups.
He said Rs 496 crore has been allocated for the fire and rescue department and Rs 1,064 crore for the reconstruction of 64 dams in tamil Nadu. Villupuram, Ramanathapuram 10 crore new museums will be set up.

Students studying in government schools pay Rs.
