New Rule: women tv anchors to cover their faces?...


The Taliban government in afghanistan has issued a new decree regarding women on Thursday. The Taliban said that all female anchors appearing on tv channels will have to cover their faces during the telecast of the programme.

According to News, the Taliban's Ministry of Information and culture has issued this order. The Taliban have said that the order is "final" and cannot be changed. 


This order is also being implemented in other media organizations in afghanistan, the statement said. A permanent media official in afghanistan told that his channel has also received a similar order and no scope has been kept for discussion on it. He said that the channel has no other option. Several female tv anchors shared their pictures on social media, in which they are seen covering their faces with masks while anchoring. 


'Women are being wiped out in the country'

'Tolo News' journalist Yalda ali posted a video of herself wearing a face mask and captioned it, 'A woman is being eradicated at the orders of the Ministry of Information and Culture.' When the Taliban was in power from 1996 to 2001. The Taliban initially seemed to be soft on restrictions on women after regaining power in august last year, but in recent weeks it has begun to tighten restrictions again.

Earlier, the Taliban had ordered women to be covered in burqa from head to toe in public places. According to the orders of the Taliban, only the eyes of women can be seen.
