National Anti-Terrorism Day 2022...


National Anti-Terrorism Day 2022 is celebrated on 21 May to commemorate the death anniversary of former prime minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. The day is celebrated to spread awareness about peace, harmony and the need to unite against the global menace like terrorism. Significantly, in the last few years, with the help of the government, police and security forces, there has been a decrease in terrorist activities. At the same time, recently the Union Ministry of home Affairs (MHA) has written a letter to all the states, union territories, central government departments as well as ministries to celebrate Anti-Terrorism Day on 21st May in a 'proper manner'. This letter has been sent to the secretaries.


What is the purpose?

The letter said, 'Every year May 21 is celebrated as Anti-Terrorism Day. The purpose behind celebrating this day is to remove the youth from the path of terrorism and violence. Simultaneously, bringing to the fore the sufferings of the common people and showing how it is harmful to the national interest. The home Ministry said in the letter that anti-terrorism oath will also be administered in all offices, public sector undertakings and other public institutions.
