INS Arihant is India's first and only nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine. It has the capability of carrying out nuclear strikes in sea, land and air. The indian Navy on friday successfully launched a nuclear submarine INS Arihant ballistic missile. The missile passed all operational and technical requirements during testing while hitting the target in the Bay of bengal with pinpoint accuracy.
According to the Defense Ministry, "SLBM (Submarine Ballistic Missile Launch) user training successfully conducted by INS Arihant is vital to demonstrating launch crew effectiveness and in keeping with the SSBN programme, which is a major component of India's nuclear deterrence.
The ministry said it is a strong, durable and assured countermeasures in keeping with India's policy of 'credible minimum deterrence', underlining its commitment to 'no first use'.

However, Vasusena has not disclosed the range of INS Arihant. But it is India's first and only nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine. Talking about its features, the submarine has the ability to carry out nuclear attack in sea, land and air. INS Arihant will help india in preventing nuclear attack.
