The police used light batons on the cricket fans in chepauk to regulate the crowd. Also, women clamored to buy tickets and there was commotion. The IPL cricket match between chennai Super Kings and mumbai Indians will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at the Chepakkam cricket Stadium in Chennai. The ticket sale for this match was held yesterday morning at MA chidambaram ground in Chepakkam. Fans had been waiting despite the rain since last night to buy tickets.
In this case, the ticket sale started yesterday morning and was going on briskly. Fans were waiting in long queues to buy tickets. Then some trespassed and tried to enter the queue. Even when the police stopped them, they did not listen. So the police chased them away with a light baton. Also, the fans who pushed and shoved in the queue were lightly caned.

There was also a crowd of women in the queue to buy tickets. Two people, including a student, fainted in the crowd. An ambulance was immediately called and they were taken to the hospital. The police were unable to control the crowd of women. More people with disabilities also came to buy tickets. It is said that the police kept the disabled people out of the line-up so as not to get injured due to the huge crowd of fans.

Enraged by this, differently-abled people protested against the police and started a road blockade. Later the police negotiated and pacified them. Due to these incidents, Chepakkam area was very busy yesterday.
