A committee for planning the State Formation Day celebrations, which will begin on june 2 and last for 21 days, has been established by the State government. The panel's convenor will be Special Chief Commissioner for I and PR, Arvind Kumar, and its head would be Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari.

Senior officials from several departments, as well as government advisor KV Ramana, MLC Deshapati Srinivas, and other members of the committee, will serve on it. A large-scale celebration of the state's 10th formation day will begin on june 2 and run for 21 days, showcasing the advancements made by the state over the previous nine years on all fronts.


On Tuesday, Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari and director General of police Anjani Kumar met with the chairman of the National Commission for backward classes, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, and gave him an update on the various development and welfare programmes being implemented for the State's weaker sections and members of the backward classes.

Ahir, who was in the State for a day, had a detailed briefing from the Chief Secretary on the various measures the State government is taking to assist the OBC communities in the State, according to a press release released here. She briefed the chairperson on Telangana's implementation of reservations and quota roster for Other backward classes (OBCs).
