Following the announcement of Warner Bros. Discovery, a media and entertainment conglomerate, telangana witnessed the announcement of more significant investments. On Thursday, Medtronic PLC, a Dublin-based global leader in healthcare technology, announced an investment of over $350 million (roughly Rs. 3000 crore) to expand the Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Centre (MEIC) in Hyderabad.
Ocugen Inc., a large biotechnology company with headquarters in the United States, also unveiled plans for a research and development facility in Telangana. This facility will concentrate on creating advanced regeneration cell treatment and modifying gene therapies in addition to vaccinations to promote public health. 


Following a meeting with IT and industries Minister KT Rama Rao, who is presently in New York as part of a continuing business visit of the United States, Medtronic's statement came after corporate executives, including Mike Marinaro, Executive Vice President & President (Surgical), met with him. The Medtronic investment builds on a prior $160 million investment in MEIC in 2020, and it is anticipated that over the next five years, it would increase its current strength of 800 employees, mostly engineers, to over 1500. Following a meeting between Rama Rao and Dr. shankar Musunuri, the company's co-founder and chairman, Ocugen made its announcement.
