In the USA, indian students have been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Sai Varshith Kandula stormed the white house security gate recently and said he attempted to murder President Biden. Another Indian-American student has since received a guilty verdict from a judge. The student, Kalp patel, admitted guilt to rape-related charges.
On january 22, 2018, Kalp was taken into custody by the police after attacking and attempting to rape another female residential assistant at Indiana University. Kalp said that he had been having hallucinations about his fellow female home assistant while consuming THC-laced gummy bears. He touched the victim inappropriately and chewed her fingers. On all charges, he entered a guilty plea. He was recently given a 546-day term of unsupervised probation and was able to flee without serving any time behind bars. patel has been barred from the Bloomington campus and is no longer permitted to visit his residence, according to a statement from Indiana University.

For trying to rape his female resident assistant in his dorm room on the university's Bloomington campus, Kalp patel, 22, was detained in january 2022. patel was accused of strangling, sexual battery, injury-causing battery, obstructing law enforcement, and minor in possession of alcohol, among other offences. According to a report last week by the WTHR television station, all of those charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. He received a 546-day term of unsupervised probation with no incarceration. A female residential assistant at Union Street Centre Birch Hall heard patel crying on january 16, 2022, and she went to check on him.

Patel allegedly climbed on top of the lady, strangled her, groped her, and chewed her fingers, according to court records. Until police officers from the Indiana university police Department came at the hostel and arrested patel, the assistant was able to hold patel at bay. The Monroe County Correctional Facility was the next stop after being transferred to Indiana university Health Bloomington Hospital, according to WTHR.

During the course of the inquiry, patel admitted to taking two THC-laced gummy bears at the close-by Campus view Apartments before returning to his dorm room. According to WTHR, the man claims that while attempting to "have fun" with the assistant, he freaked out and felt as though he was in a dream.
