In this regard, the police said: On the 19th, Assistant Director, Directorate of Revenue Investigation, chennai Zonal Division, chennai Metropolitan police, Central Crime Branch, Ticket Extortion and Forgery Passport Division, Mohammad Sheikh Ilias had forged documents such as passport and visa and had the necessary equipment. Information received.

Based on this information, the police registered a case in the Central Crime Branch, Lottery, Usury and Fake Passport Section and arrested Mohammad Sheikh Ilyas, and imprisoned him in court custody on the 20th. In this case, the Central Crime Branch police were conducting a series of investigations into the fake passport and fake visa preparation agents.


Sivakumar from Tiruvottiyur and Mohammad Bukhari from Rayapuram who were involved in this case were arrested yesterday (May 29). During their investigation, they seized more than 160 assets from Mohammad Bukhari, including passports, passport papers, fake rubber stamps of the indian government and foreign countries, equipment for making them, computer, UV light, stamping machine, and 2 cell phones.

The investigation revealed that they were involved in fraud by buying old passports and visa papers from the passport buying agents, separating the inner sheets and stamping fake passports and visas to ineligible indian and foreign persons.

Therefore, the police have appealed to the public who are applying for passports and visas through agents to be careful in this regard and to submit proper documents through the Zonal Passport office and approach the embassies of the concerned countries to obtain passports and visas.

It has been reported that chennai Metropolitan police Commissioner shankar Jiwal praised the Central Crime Branch for arresting the passport making gang and seizing the equipment in this case.
