On Thursday, the Hospital Development Society and NTPC hyderabad signed an agreement to fund the purchase of medical equipment for the hospital. The project will require six months for initial installation and commissioning and one year for annual monitoring of the entire project, including the equipment. The project is being carried out in accordance with their CSR objectives.

The Urology department, which focuses on kidney transplant surgery, will use the specialised medical equipment. The project's goal is to facilitate referral services for the poor so they can receive specialised care at tertiary healthcare facilities and to provide preventive, curative, and behavioural levels of therapy. To assist the sick and needy people, the hospital contacted NTPC.

The agreement was signed by Hospital Development Society Superintendent and Convenor B Nagendar on behalf of osmania general hospital and SRHQ, DGM (HR) Sabyasachi Padhi on behalf of NTPC Limited. Speaking at the event, RED(South & WR-1) Debashish Chattopadhyay said that NTPC aimed to pursue development that was people-centric and believed in progress with a human face.

According to him, NTPC is undertaking comprehensive community development initiatives in the area as part of its plants or projects at the national level, with a focus on health and nutrition. These initiatives include primary education, community health, drinking water, sanitation, women's empowerment, skill development, community infrastructure, etc.
