Smugglers have used methods from the well-liked movie "Pushpa: The Rise" to smuggle teakwood logs across the Telangana-Maharashtra border in the heavily wooded bhupalpally and Sironcha regions. However, on monday night, the truck was stopped by vigilant forest inspectors, who also arrested two people and seized 60,000 rupees' worth of teak wood.

"They hid the logs of wood underneath the vehicle to avoid discovery while being transported. The teakwood was being illegally transported into bhupalpally from Sironcha in Maharashtra. An inquiry is ongoing and a charge has been lodged, according to district Forest office (DFO) B Lavanya's statement to india Herald.

Meanwhile, reports said that smuggled timber was being bought in the former warangal area. A single six-foot long by six-inch broad log was reportedly being sold by timber traffickers for between Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000, when the same log would generally cost between Rs 2,500 and Rs 3,200 for them in maharashtra and chhattisgarh States.

Additionally, it is said that a few forest department employees in the Mahadevapur and Palimela mandals are also participating in the illicit trade. A government official who spoke on the record said that in order to successfully stop the smuggling of teakwood in the bhupalpally area, check points must be set up at key bridges and river patrols must be increased.
