Konduru Ravinder Rao, the chairman of the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks Limited (NAFSCOB) and the TSCOB, attended the 17th indian Cooperative congress on saturday in New Delhi. Later, in a statement to the media, Ravinder Rao said that the establishment of a separate minister for Cooperation had resulted in a full transformation of cooperatives. He said that the conference gained significance because prime minister Narendra Modi spoke at it, two and a half decades after the establishment of a distinct Ministry for Cooperation.

He said telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was also boosting the agriculture sector and cooperatives by establishing many welfare packages, adding that the conference was hosted under the subject "Amrit Kal - Cooperation for the powerful India". 34 nations' representatives were present in the conference. The conference was also attended by N Satyanarayana Rao, CEO of the karimnagar DCCB, the DCCB chairman of the telangana state, the directors of the karimnagar DCCB, and others.

The gujarat High Court's order rejecting Teesta Setalvad's request for regular bail and requiring her to appear in court right away in a case involving allegations of fabricating evidence to convict innocent people in 2002 post-Godhra riot cases was put on hold for a week by the supreme court late saturday night, protecting Setalvad from arrest.
