The recently established ghmc Ward Offices are being well received by the populace, and efforts should be made to spread the idea further, according to MA&UD minister KT Rama Rao. Rama Rao advised launching several projects in conjunction with the neighbourhood residential welfare groups in the ward during a review held here on Wednesday. The minister was informed by the zonal and departmental commissioners that they were personally keeping track of and coordinating the complaints made at the ward offices and that the residents were appreciative and pleased with the effort.

According to Rama Rao, the State government actively supports citizen participation in accomplishing goals and finding answers to problems. He also informed the officials that more people would come forward with complaints if they had confidence in ward offices to handle them. The minister also instructed the ghmc officials to coordinate with other line departments in order to be prepared for the rains, which are expected to be strong starting this weekend.

Rama Rao proposed that in order to give the sanitation workers more consideration, the officials meet with them over meals and, while showing gratitude for their assistance in keeping the city clean, seek to further advance sanitation operations.
