The
telangana High
court affirmed N Shankar's land allocation for the purpose of establishing a studio. A Bench made up of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N Tukaramji stated that the State government's allocation of 5 acres of public land in Mokilla Village, Shankarpalli,
ranga reddy District for a nominal payment did not deserve any interference.
The Municipal Administration Urban Development Department's allocation order to director shankar at Rs. 5 lakh per acre was contested by J. shankar of Karimnagar. Such an allocation, it was argued, was arbitrary. Although the land had a real value of Rs 5 crores, it was unfairly given for Rs 5 lakh, according to the petitioner's attorney. The government discriminated by giving the public land to the person of its choosing even though, if it wished to expand the film business, it should have provided equal chance to everyone who was interested.According to the Advocate General BS Prasad, the petitioner's estimate of Rs 5 crore per acre in the subject region lacked any foundation. He maintained that the promotion of a certain industry was legal. director Shankar's senior attorney, B raghu Ram, maintained that the property was registered in the name of the production firm rather than to a specific person. The allocation would make it possible to advance the economy and create jobs. The Bench emphasised that state governments offered artists and athletes comparable privileges for opening academies. The Bench dismissed the complaint against the allocation on the grounds that it is preferable to have a policy in place to guarantee there is no favouritism.
