A 14.5 MW capacity facility in Dundigal is prepared to go operational as part of the telangana government's ambitious ambitions to guarantee a sustainable future for hyderabad with a number of waste-to-energy facilities. In addition to the Dundigal plant, the government had planned waste-to-energy facilities in Pyaranagar (15 MW), Yacharam (12 MW), and Bibinagar (11 MW). The State government intends to produce 100 MW of electricity from garbage in the near future, according to recommendations made by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department.
On Saturday, MA&UD minister KT Rama Rao said that the Dundigal plant was ready to go operational. "Creating Wealth out of Waste (WoW) has been a conscientious decision of the telangana Govt.," he said on Twitter. In addition to the 20 MW plant in jawahar Nagar, ghmc has completed the construction of a 14.5 MW waste-to-energy facility at Dundigal.

Around 1,500 tonnes of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) may be processed each day at the plant. He stated that hyderabad would create 34.5 MW of electricity from garbage as a result, putting the city on track to produce 101 MW total from waste by december 2024. The WTE plant in Bibinagar is currently being worked on to become operational as soon as possible. Even though the plant's construction was finished in 2018, the business that put it up was unable to make it operational for a variety of reasons. As a result, the ghmc recently assigned Ever Enviro Resource Management Pvt Ltd with the assignment.
