On Saturday, the city hosted the poster launch for the film "Razakar - The Silent Genocide of Hyderabad." Senior bharatiya janata party (BJP) figures including ex-Telangana chairman and karimnagar MP bandi sanjay kumar, ex-MP ap Jithendar Reddy, and ex-Maharashtra governor C vidyasagar Rao were present at the occasion.

Produced by bjp politician Guduru narayana rao under the name "Samarveer Creations," the film was written and directed by yata Satyanarayana. the 'untold narrative of Razakar atrocities' in hyderabad, a princely state, would be shown. The film will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, according to the producers. The film's director stated during his speech at the occasion that it was not a history of religious strife. He continued, citing prominent Muslim personalities like Sheikh Bandagi, Makdoom Moinuddin, and writer Shoebullah Khan who all opposed the establishment at the time, saying, "It is not made to sow discontent among anybody."

In a statement thanking the film's creators, Bandi Sanjay expressed his desire for the producer to create "Patha Basthi Files" (Old City is known as Patha Basthi in Telugu). The director-producer team created a film on the Razakars after drawing influence from "The kashmir Files". Bandi noted that some depict the charminar, the osmania hospital, and the osmania university and refer to the Nizam-Razakar regime as a "golden period," despite the fact that the film's creators claimed the Nizams were accountable for several crimes. They are attempting to depict the last Nizam, a monster, as a decent, civilized guy. The politics of vote banks prevent them from showing true history. people who identify as "pseudo-secular," he claimed, don't want it to anger particular groups.

Notably, the osmania hospital was erected in 1919, and the osmania university was founded in 1918 by the emperors of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. sultan Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah of the Qutb Shahi dynasty built the charminar in 1591. The Razakars have no connection to the Qutb Shahis. The move by the bjp to declare september 17 to be "Telangana Liberation Day" was also brought up repeatedly during the event.

Who were Razakars?
Under Nizam's leadership, the nationalist party's paramilitary volunteer army in hyderabad state was known as the Razakars. Founded in 1938 by Bahadur Yar Jung, the head of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, they saw significant growth under Qasim Razvi's leadership around the time of India's independence.

They were used to fight against India's union with hyderabad and to uphold Muslim authority there. They targeted Muslims and Hindus whose allegiance to the state was in doubt. Communists who attempted to ignite the red revolution in the state were likewise opposed by them. This film is perceived as another effort in the same vein as films like "The kashmir Files" and "The kerala Story," which received criticism for demonising the Muslim population.
