Arvind Netam announced to contest the elections of Sarv Adivasi Samaj....
Former Union minister Arvind Netam lashed out at congress and bjp during discussion with journalists. He said that all the rights of tribals have been abolished in the profession law made by the congress government. Whether it is forest land or Nazul land in Surguja and Bastar, it is mandatory to take permission from the Gram Sabha under the profession law, but now the government has changed the original law and included consultation in place of acceptance.
During the discussion with the journalists, he said that tinkering with the profession law is a violation of the constitutional rights of the tribals and due to this the future of the society is bleak. The profession law was made in 1996 for the interests of the tribals, but now this law is destroying the rights of the society itself. Former Union minister and President of chhattisgarh Sarva Adivasi Samaj, Arvind Netam said that the tribals did not get their rights from both bjp and Congress.
'Constitutional rights of tribals are being violated'
Arvind Netam said, "Now in the law made for the tribals in the state, their own constitutional rights are being violated. We were supposed to get 32 percent reservation in 2001, but after the delimitation, the five reserved seats for the tribals were removed. He said that the long After waiting, the profession law was enacted, but in that also the rights of the Gram Sabha were abolished.Sarva Adivasi Samaj is continuously agitating for the Naxal problem, displacement of tribals in the name of development works, land issues and their 23-point demands. ."
Tribal society will contest elections
Netam said that under the leadership of former president late Sohan Potai, there was awareness in the society from district to block level in the entire state. The government neither wants to talk about any issue of tribals nor does it want to give them the legal rights given to them. At present, the MLAs who have won from reserved seats have failed to raise the issue of tribals. Looking at all these reasons, the society will keep its voice till the assembly and use its public opinion for its rights. In the 2023 elections, the tribal community will contest the assembly elections to solve their problems. Netam said, "The resentment against the government in the tribal society can be gauged from the fact that in the Bhanupratappur by-election, the independent mla from the tribal class got 16 percent votes. Impressed by the Bhanupratappur by-election, the chhattisgarh Sarva Adivasi Samaj decided to contest the coming assembly. It has been decided to field candidates from the Samaj in the elections. In the Vidhan Sabha elections, the Samaj will contest 30 reserved and 20 general seats."
