The public has been cautioned not to trust reports spreading on social media claiming female students from a certain community installed a concealed camera in the women's restroom of a private institution in Udupi.

District Superintendent of police Hakay Akshay Machhindra told reporters in Udupi that a clarification had been posted on the police social media accounts regarding persons who were equating certain incidents that happened in other locations with the reported event in Udupi. Sharing unverified material on social media sites is an attempt to spread confusion.


He claimed that the police department is unaware of any circulating videos of this nature. Additionally, he added, they haven't heard of any complaints of any concealed cameras being set up at the college. The victim has also notified the college management that a video was created for amusement and then deleted, not distributed, and that the college management has taken disciplinary action at their level, the SP told the reporters. According to Machhindra, no one has seen the alleged video. He urged if somebody discovers the video, to bring it to our attention.

The police sought to confirm the legitimacy of the twitter account through which a message with rumors about kids from a certain community was sent, according to rashmi Samant, a twitter user and local of Udupi. According to the SP, police have not filed any complaints since there isn't enough information regarding the incident to warrant doing so. college director rashmi krishna Prasad stated during a news conference that an investigation was conducted as soon as the administration was made aware of the situation. students have been suspended as part of disciplinary action for breaking the regulations by bringing mobile phones to campus, according to the investigations.

After being notified, the police arrived to the institution and conducted an investigation while the parents of the students involved watched. She said that students had given the cops their cell phones. She said that the pupils had issued an apology and had made it clear that the video was done just for amusement. Later, Udupi mla Yashpal Suvarna requested the police to file a suo motu case against the students who they said had hidden cameras in the lavatory while speaking to media.
