On Wednesday, well-known telugu actress and former mla jayasudha formally joined the BJP. At an event conducted at the bjp office in Delhi, tarun Chug, the party's national secretary and telangana in-charge, welcomed her to the organization. G. kishan reddy, the state bjp president, and the union tourism minister, as well as D. K. Aruna, the national vice-president of the party, were in attendance. A few days after kishan reddy first saw her and publicly welcomed her, jayasudha joined the BJP. For the past 12 months, there have been rumors that she wants to join the BJP.

Jayasudha had also seen bjp mla and former minister Eatala Rajender, who extended an invitation for her to join the party. According to reports, she presented the bjp with a list of requirements and informed the party hierarchy that she would only join the organization if those requirements were satisfied. According to reports, the bjp has promised to grant her the party's nomination for the next assembly elections. She will probably run from the secunderabad assembly constituency, which she previously held. The invitation to Jaysudha is a part of the BJP's efforts to win over prominent figures and party leaders to its cause in order to improve its chances in the 2023 assembly elections.

The actress, who starred in several films in the 1970s and 1980s, entered politics in 2009 at the request of then-Andhra Pradesh chief minister and congress politician Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy. 2009 saw her election to the andhra pradesh assembly from the secunderabad district. However, she was unsuccessful in keeping the seat in the 2014 elections. She joined the telugu desam party (TDP) in 2016 after leaving the congress, however, she was mainly inactive there.
