The Hyderabad-Nagpur highway section between Baswapur in Bhiknoor Mandal and Sadashivanagar in kamareddy district is littered with potholes, making travel on it more hazardous. Vehicle drivers continue to cause numerous accidents because they are unable to avoid these potholes. Motorists claim that NHAI officials who collect road tolls from drivers don't seem interested in making the repairs.

NH 44 begins in the undivided mahabubnagar district of telangana and finishes at the district of adilabad on the maharashtra border. Numerous passenger and commercial vehicles use the roadway. The section between Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and nagpur has heavy traffic. NHAI allows vehicles to travel on NH-44 at speeds of up to 100 km/h, depending on the state of the road. The NH 44 was destroyed throughout various parts in the former Medak, Nizamabad, and adilabad districts due to persistent rain.

Between Baswapur and Sadashivanagar, the road had significant damage, and the potholes had become treacherous. Locals in Rameshwarpally reported that the bridge had developed fractures on the roadway. A rtc driver recently reduced speed after spotting a row of potholes on the road. The bus was struck by a fast vehicle approaching from the back, injuring the passengers.

On NH 44, the kamareddy district police warned drivers of dangerous potholes and notified the NHAI of the need for repairs. We are experiencing a lot of inconveniences on NH 44 from Dichpally to Bhiknoor, stated motorist Chandrasen Reddy. The repair work on NH 44 would be finished in three days, according to C. Srinivasa Rao, project director for the NHAI. He stated, "We instructed the relevant authorities to complete the works as quickly as possible." According to him, the lack of hot mix material caused a delay in the pothole repairs. According to him, cold mix repairs won't be enough for severe road damage. Diverse teams were put into duty to finish the repair work, giving precedence at intersections, he added.
