The State government spent approximately Rs. 6617 crore on the telangana Social Welfare Residential educational institutions Society (TSWREIS) supporting the education of 12,55,021 students from 2014 to 2023, according to minister for sc Development and Minority Welfare Koppula eshwar on Friday.

In response to a brief debate on initiatives for the welfare of the poorer parts in the State Legislative Council, he stated that 134 residential schools were added to the same number of already-existing institutions following the creation of the telangana State. Girls' education received more focus, and as part of the effort, 30 degree-granting institutions specifically for women were established. A total of Rs. 184.81 crore was spent on the Dr. b. r. ambedkar Overseas vidya Nidhi Scheme, which helped 1046 students pursue higher education overseas.

The government intends to provide financial aid to sc students who choose to pursue higher education in reputable institutions located in other States as well. Dalit Bandhu and the 125-foot-tall bronze monument of Dr. b. r. ambedkar were ground-breaking projects that supported the government's commitment to the welfare of scheduled castes.

The government has also started renovating several houses of worship. It has invested Rs 40 crore on Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid. After telangana became a state, chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao took responsibility for the welfare of Muslim Minorities, which had received little attention under the previous administrations.
