KTR announces welfare measures for telangana weavers!!!

As a part of National Handlooms Day on Monday, the state would unveil a plethora of welfare initiatives for weavers, according to telangana Handlooms and Textiles minister KT Rama Rao (KTR). A week-long celebration of Handlooms Day would also be held, the minister stated. 'Telangana Chenetha Maggam', a special programme for the conversion of pit looms to frame looms, would be introduced in conjunction with the occasion. ktr also announced the laying of the cornerstone for the Handlooms and Handicrafts Museum in Shilparamam. 

The minister said that Handlooms Day would also be celebrated for an entire week. In conjunction with the event, "Telangana Chenetha Maggam," a special scheme for converting pit looms to frame looms, would be launched. The cornerstone-laying ceremony for the Handlooms and Handicrafts Museum in Shilparamam was also announced by KTR. 

The State government provides 16% of the declared income under the Nethannaku Cheyutha system, while handloom weavers contribute 8%. In addition to the power loom workers' contribution, the State government also gives 8%.
