Gampa Govardhan, the government whip and a kamareddy mla, asked chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to run in the 2019 elections from his district. kcr said that his parents moved to Chintamadaka village in medak district after initially being natives of Konapur village in Bibipet mandal of kamareddy district.

Govardhan said he had enthusiastically encouraged kcr to run from kamareddy as the latter developed his Gajwel constituency on all fronts while taking part in a number of development initiatives in Arepally village in rajampet mandal on Tuesday. I just visited with minister K.T. Rama Rao and told him the same, he added.

"Retiring from an mla post is not an easy decision, but if kcr contests from my constituency, I decided to work as an activist," he stated. We want the same here as well, the mla added, adding that minister KTR developed the public school in their hometown of Konapur by investing "5 crores."
