'Indecent': bjp women MPs Lodge Complaint Against rahul Gandhi's Alleged Flying Kiss Gesture

Union minister Shobha Karandlaje, along with fellow women bjp MPs, lodged a formal complaint on tuesday against congress leader rahul gandhi for an inappropriate gesture directed towards Union minister smriti irani during a parliamentary session.

Gandhi, who was given the opportunity to speak first on the No-Confidence Motion, departed for rajasthan shortly after his speech. However, prior to leaving, smriti irani accused him of blowing a flying kiss in her direction, an action that was not captured by the cameras.

Speaking to ANI, Shobha Karandlaje said,''This is the first time we have seen such behaviour from an mp in the House. He made a gesture of a flying kiss at women MPs in the House....It is unacceptable. We have complained to the Speaker to take action against him.''

Eyewitnesses reported that as rahul gandhi left after addressing the no-trust motion, he accidentally dropped some files. While bending to retrieve them, a few bjp MPs burst into laughter. Allegedly, at this point, rahul gandhi gestured a flying kiss toward the bjp MPs before departing.

Strongly criticizing rahul gandhi for the flying kiss incident, smriti irani, the Union minister of women and Child Development, expressed her objection. She labeled such behavior as indecent and indicative of a misogynistic mindset, particularly in a parliament that comprises female parliamentarians. She underscored that such behavior had never been witnessed before in the country's parliamentary history and accused rahul gandhi of demeaning women.

Smriti Irani asserted, "I have a qualm. He misbehaved. Only a misogynistic man can give a flying kiss to female parliamentarians. Representative of the family he comes from...He broadcasted what he and his party feel about women...Such an instance was never witnessed before. This shows what he thinks of women. This is obscene."

Meanwhile, during the no-confidence motion debate on the Manipur violence, rahul gandhi directed his criticism towards prime minister Narendra Modi. He accused the government of dividing Manipur into two parts through its actions. Highlighting his recent visit to Manipur, rahul gandhi contrasted it with prime minister Modi's absence from the strife-torn state. He remarked, "A few days back, I went to Manipur. Our prime minister didn't go, not even to this day, because for him Manipur is not India." Further asserting that prime minister Modi was a "traitor" rather than a "nationalist," rahul gandhi accused the government of "killing India" in Manipur through its policies and actions. He declared, "They killed india in Manipur. Not just Manipur, but they killed India. Their politics has not killed Manipur, but it has killed india in Manipur. They have murdered india in Manipur."
